This Charming Man; Morrissey date in Dunoon
31st March 11
The former Smiths frontman heads out on tour this summer and gigs at the Queens Hall Dunoon, with support from Flats on Saturday June 18th.
According to the song, he would go out tonight, but he hasn't got a thing to wear. It seems this lack of clothes is just one of many things that's depressed Morrissey throughout his time with The Smiths in the 80's and his solo career. Luckily for us, he's still sharing his angst via the bittersweet indie/pop stylings he's made his own. A truly tortured genius and his legendary status and loyal fans who have taken him to a cult status mean that the Dunoon gig is set to be a sell out.
Supported by Flats who are renowned for their incendiary live shows, Dunoon looks set to host a night to rival any other highland fling.
Set in Scotland’s first National Park, Dunoon is two great resorts in one: a traditional lochside resort with spectacular views across the Clyde and a great base for exploring the rugged mountain scenery of Argyll. This powerful and dramatic landscape is a sublimely fitting setting for what will no doubt be an emotionally charged and memorable performance by the great Moz himself.
Gig goers looking for somewhere to rest their gladioli strewn heads need look no further than Dunoon’s Selborne Hotel. A short, six minute stroll from the Queens Hall, the Selborne sits alongside the water’s edge and has ample car/coach parking. There’s a warm welcome and great Scottish breakfast on offer to soak up the excesses of your night in Dunoon.
Prices start from just £47 for bed and breakfast. Rooms are going fast so if you’ve already got your hands on one of the Queens Hall tickets, best book yourself a room with a view very soon.
