Celebrating Success – Hotel Manager of the Year

Second Win In a Row for Hamid from the George IV at Criccieth

We are proud to announce details of the latest winners in our much celebrated Leisureplex Hotel Manager of the Year awards programme. These highly coveted awards are judged on the work put in by each of the 19 hotel teams over the past twelve months. They are determined by feedback from   customer questionnaires, covering areas such as food quality, housekeeping and entertainment. We think that this makes them all the more special for the winning hotels and with the high response rate of 96% of questionnaires being completed and returned, we believe our guests like to be involved in ensuring we provide the best holiday experience.

1st Place

General Manager - Hamid Khoshneviszadeh

Hotel – The George IV Hotel

Hamid celebrated his second successive win as Leisureplex Hotel Manager of the Year. Hamid is equally well known for his dry wit and humorous nature as he is for his rigorous, impeccable hotel standards. Hamid boasts an outstanding record of achievement with a career dedicated to excellence in the hospitality industry.

The George IV is a relatively new acquisition to the Leisureplex portfolio and Hamid and his team have worked hard to instil Leisureplex service standards into the Grade II listed hotel. Indeed, Hamid has overcome considerable operational difficulties to win the award for 2010 as the George IV underwent major refurbishment work. In particular, work to restore the impressive stained glass windows and original leaded lights took far longer than expected to complete. Hamid proved himself a most worthy winner by retaining guest satisfaction levels- despite the disruption of the restoration work. A modest Hamid said, “Whilst winning is a great honour I must pay tribute to my fellow managers- many of whom operate much bigger hotels, who consistently do such a great job in looking after our guests.”


2nd Place General Manager - Carl Milner    

Hotel – The Devon Towers Hotel

Going from 3rd place last year to runner up in 2010, Carl’s experience and his team’s energy have ensured that his guests have had a relaxing and memorable holiday. Carl’s team is already geared up for this year’s busy season; let the competition begin!


3rd Place General Manager – Ben Harvey

Hotel - The New Beach Hotel

It’s a new entry in this year’s Awards for Great Yarmouth’s Ben Harvey. Ben joined the Leisureplex Group just a few short years ago and has clearly set his sights on leading the way with outstanding service.

Veronica Gorman, Customer Services Manager said, “We were inundated with compliment letters in 2010. The excellent standards of customer service achieved will be hard to exceed but I know that every hotel manager and their hard working teams are committed to being the very best in the business.”
