There are also the atmospheric smugglers' pubs which are a living reminder of the more colourful side of Cornwall's history! Newquay is superbly situated for exploring the whole of Cornwall including the magnificent Eden Project.

"We travelled to the eliott hotel on a alfa travel package .Were a young couple and both 28. First things first the coach (from nottingham) journey was easier than we imagined and was nicely broken up with visits to services . The coach was basic but very clean and our driver was very pleasant and easily approachable if we had any issues . On arrival to the hotel it took less than ten minutes to check the whole group in and we were in our rooms . The room was a reasonable size ensuite and very clean and was cleaned every day when we were out . Meals were good quality and served very quickly by pleasant staff . Our particular waitress for the week was bulgarian and it was a pleasure to be served by her once you get used to the accent . Entertainment is provided every night and although not to our taste as its aimed at the over 60s everyone else said it was very good . We spent a few nights in the eliott bar which also has great staff especially ron . All in all we would definately return and would recommend this place to anyone."
